The Babyloninas developed the 12 signs which is then integrated into Western Astrology. However the acient Greeks were the ones who had named the 12 star signs after constellations and had linked them to specific dates based on their alignment in the Sun's orbit. Zodiac is a word which was originated from the greek phrase zōdiakos kyklos which means "circle of animals".
